Why we exist Mission · Material logic

Short-use products need smarter material cycles.

A shopping bag may live for a few hours. A shipping box may be opened once. A wrapper may create one moment of anticipation and then disappear. Yet many short-use objects still rely heavily on long-cycle resources and distant supply chains. Releaf does not present this as a moral accusation.

We see it as a material mismatch — and an opportunity to create an additional input for the paper world from a resource that cities already collect every year.

One leaf stream. Several material routes.

Releaf is built around the conversion of fallen leaves into usable material components. Paper is our first commercial platform because it is visible, testable and market-ready. Around it we build roll paper, white and brown stock, kraft and testliner grades, customized packaging programs, Trace specialty surfaces and development routes for molded, coated and composite materials.

Different partners enter Releaf from different sides.

A brand may come for packaging that creates a first impression before the logo appears. A converter may come for a new substrate that helps clients stand apart. A city may come with a seasonal leaf stream and the ambition to create local value. An R&D partner may come to test a material route. An investor may come to understand how a leaf-paper company becomes a broader materials platform.

A visible idea, tested through industry, media, institutions.

Releaf has moved from research into industrial trials, public attention, funded development, partner work and product applications. Recognition matters because new materials need trust. Every grant, award, partner, article, sample and pilot should help the website answer one question: can this become a real material system?
